How does cloud scanning work?

Open the app, tap 'I see clouds!', and point your phone at the sky. Tap the big 👀 button to take a snapshot. Spottle then shows a wispy cloud-shape (a dove, a bunny, a rocket ship, etc.) painted into the photo on screen, and the child picks which one it is from three cards below. Everything runs on the device — your child's photo is never uploaded.

What is Imagination Mode?

When there are no clouds available, Imagination Mode generates a dreamy cloud drawing on screen and plays the same guessing game — so kids can play anywhere, anytime.

How do I create a player profile?

On the 'Who's Playing?' screen, tap 'Add Player' and follow the steps to choose a name, avatar, colour, and age group.

How do I delete a profile?

Go to Settings (gear icon) → Manage Profiles → swipe left on the profile you want to remove.

Why does Nancy warn about the sun?

For safety! If the camera detects very bright light (like the sun), Nancy asks you to point somewhere else. Never look directly at the sun.

The app isn't finding shapes — what should I do?

Try pointing at fluffy, white clouds against a blue sky. Thin wispy clouds or a fully overcast sky can be tricky. If no shapes appear after a minute, Nancy will suggest switching to Imagination Mode.

Is Spottle free?

Spottle is free to download. There are no ads and no in-app purchases for children.
